Three Great Taste Awards for Eight Degrees

Great Taste Awards for Eight Degrees Brewing

Two stars for Howling Gale Irish Pale Ale and one star for Knockmealdown Porter.

Last night the results of the Great Taste 2014 food awards were released and we were delighted to learn that our Howling Gale Irish Pale Ale won two stars while the Knockmealdown Porter was also awarded a star.

Great Taste is the world’s largest blind-tasted food awards, judged by more than 400 food critics, chefs, cooks, farmers, food writers and journalists.

The judges were particularly taken with Howling Gale:

‘Effervescent with a wonderfully aromatic nose. A clean palate with a relatively light body but well managed – floral and caramel elements working well together. A pleasing finish with good length. Well made and attractive.’

This marks the third and fourth award for Eight Degrees Brewing in a year which has already seen Amber Ella take a World Beer Cup bronze medal in April and Sunburnt Irish Red Ale win silver at the 2014 Global Craft Beer Awards in July.
