A Winter’s Ale (ABV 7%). Released November 2012.

The 2012/2013 evolution of our winter seasonal is a strong, spiced deep ruby ale.

We have developed this beer in collaboration with local spice specialists Green Saffron, producing a rich ale that will warm you up from the inside. Crystal and Munich malts are complimented with Fuggles hops, dessicated orange peel, cloves and cinnamon.

Best sipped s-l-o-w-l-y next to a roaring fire.

We’ve been sending out quantities of A Winter’s Ale for the last week so it should be in your local stockist now. Check out the Where, Where, Where page for more details of Eight Degrees stockists.

Oktoberfest 2012
SOLD OUT Ochtoberfest Marzen Style (ABV 6.4%) 33cl

Ocht: number eight in Irish.

Ochtoberfest sounds like a German beer festival traditionally held to celebrate the marriage of King Ludwig I and Princess Therese of Bavaria back in 1810. But it’s not.

Ochtoberfest is a modern Irish festival celebrating the lucky and infinite nature of this humble numeral. Only beer brewed eight degrees west of Greenwich on the eighth month of the year – and served at precisely eight degrees celsius – can be consumed at the festival.

Eight Degrees Brewing have brewed a Marzen-style beer, which just happens to be the traditional brew of that other festival in Munich.

This beer is a full bodied lager with a deep amber colour, rich toasty malt and hopped far more than Ludwig would have liked. ABV 6.4%.
