Limited Edition: Enigma Single Hop IPA

As the name suggests, the Enigma hop has a flavour profile which is difficult to crack. Some say raspberries and redcurrant – others say rock melon and tropical fruit. Enigma now forms part of our Single Hop IPA series. A solid malt backbone transports this wonderful hop to the fore. Expect lots of fruity rock melon, spiced with some orange zest and a balancing crisp hop bitterness. Puzzling, ambiguous and inexplicable; we challenge you to discover for yourself Enigma’s unique, yet irresistible, flavours and aromas. Denali SHIPA

Hopsteiner refer to the Denali hop as BIG, a monster of a plant with gigantic cones and an unusually high oil content. Perhaps that is why they renamed it from Experiment #06277 – which sounds a bit like a prisoner on death row. It’s now the more marketing-friendly Denali, the high one, after the Alaskan indigenous name for North American’s highest mountain, otherwise known as Mount McKinley. It still is BIG, bursting with rich tropical citrus aromas and heavy on pineapple, with a touch of spice to boot. We are excited to showcase this new hop as part of our single hop IPA, or SHIPA, range. Short description: pineapple and tropical citrus aroma Style: Single Hop IPA Hop: Denali. Malt: two-row Irish malt. Strength: 5.7% ABV Bitterness: 61 IBUs Tasting notes Colour/appearance: bright golden colour, pale head. Aroma: ripe papaya with some green pine notes. Flavour: big round tropical fruit flavours with pineapple and papaya dominating, followed by spicy black pepper and lime. Aftertaste: rich and smooth with a citrus kick on the finish. Food Pairings A robust Indian curry is the way to go with Denali SHIPA. Take your pick from a lamb rogan josh, vegetable jalfrezi or even a chickpea vindaloo and you’ll find that the tropical fruity flavours in the beer enhance the spices, while cutting through the heat. Launch Date: August 2017. Serving temperature: 8 degrees Celsius Availability: 330ml bottles and draught (30L and 50L kegs) Get social: #DenaliSHIPA
